Honesty matters to us, so we want to be completely upfront about how GGWhatNext makes money. This page explains our policy on affiliate links, in line with the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) / CAP Code and the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) endorsement guidelines.
01 The short version
GGWhatNext does not currently use affiliate links and earns no commissions. We may add them in the future to help keep the site free to use. If we do, some outbound "buy" or "where to play" links would become affiliate links — meaning we could earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase, at no extra cost to you. We'll update this page and the date above before that happens. Either way, we only recommend games we genuinely think are worth your time, and a commission would never change our recommendations.
02 What affiliate links are
An affiliate link is a special URL that tells a retailer you arrived from our site. If you then buy something, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale as a referral fee. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.
If and when we add them, affiliate links would appear primarily on "buy" or "where to play" buttons that point to third-party game stores, so that when our recommendations are useful to you, the site can earn a little to keep the lights on.
03 Programs we participate in
We are not currently enrolled in any affiliate programs, and there are no affiliate links live on the site today. If we join any in the future, we'll list them here and revise the "Last updated" date above so you always know where things stand.
04 How to spot an affiliate link
Wherever practical, we label affiliate links clearly — for example with an "ad" or "affiliate" marker near the link, or a short note on the page. Even where a specific link isn't individually labelled, you can assume that any outbound link to a store or marketplace may be an affiliate link covered by this disclosure.
05 Editorial independence
Our recommendations are our own. To be specific:
- We choose which games to feature based on quality, fit, and relevance — never on commission rates.
- Retailers and publishers do not get to approve, edit, or veto what we say about a game.
- If we ever publish sponsored or paid content, we will label it clearly and separately as such.
- Earning a commission from a link never makes a game rank higher in our recommendations.
06 Pricing & availability
Prices, discounts, and availability shown on third-party stores can change at any time and are controlled by the retailer, not by us. We do our best to keep links accurate, but we can't guarantee a price or that a title will still be available when you click through. Always confirm the final price and details on the retailer's own page before buying.
07 Cookies & your data
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may set their own cookies to track that the referral came from us.
